EN • The 2007 edition of the VideoBrasil festival aimed to discuss the boundaries between art and cinema. Lobo assigned me to do the festival opening sequence and, as a Man Ray fan, I took his "Emak Bakia" (1926) film as a major inspiration. To get technically closer to the available resources at that incredibly creative period, I went back to basics shooting all sorts of spinning shining objects. With the raw material on the computer I was able to give it a more contemporary rhythm and treatment but keeping the avant-garde essence.

PT • A edição de 2007 do festival VideoBrasil visava discutir as fronteiras entre o cinema e as artes. A Lobo me incumbiu de fazer o vídeo de abertura do festival e, como fã do Man Ray, usei o filme "Emak Bakia" (1926) como principal inspiração. Para me aproximar tecnicamente dos recursos disponíveis naquele período tão criativo, decidi voltar as raízes e filmar vários objetos brilhantes girando. Com o material bruto no computador, pude agregar um ritmo e um tratamento mais contemporâneo sem perder a essência de vanguarda.
